How to register and send money with TD Global Transfer on EasyWeb
TD Global Transfer, an innovative marketplace that lets you choose how to send money internationally in more ways to more places. Choose a method that’s convenient for you and your recipient: transfer directly to their bank account, for cash pickup with Western Union®1 or to their eligible Visa Card2.
Step 1: Register (one time only)
Registration is a simple, one-time process.
From the left menu on the Accounts screen, select the TD Global Transfer option.
If you've already registered, skip ahead to Step 2: Get an estimate.
The TD Global Transfer page provides you a high-level view of the service and our partners.
Select the Get started button.
Confirm your personal information.
If you need to update the displayed information, select the update your TD Profile link.
If there are no changes, select the Continue button.
Review the TD Global Transfer Terms and Conditions.
If you agree, select the Accept TD Terms of Use and Privacy Terms checkbox.
If you want to save this document, select the optional Download a copy link.
Select the Register button.
You'll see a message confirming successful registration.
Step 2: Get an estimate
In the Destination section, select the country in which your recipient will receive funds from the Select country dropdown menu.
Enter the amount you want to send in the Send amount field.
Choose whether you want to fund this transfer from your Canadian or U.S. Dollar account. If you don't have a U.S. Dollar account, the amount will be listed in Canadian dollars.
Each transfer method limits the amount you can send over time.
To check the amount you can send through each method, select the What are my sending limits? link in the top right corner.
Select the Get estimates button to see your available options.
Review your transfer methods. The availability of these methods varies depending on country currency combination, the amount of transfer, and other factors.
Methods include:
Send to Account
Send directly to your recipient's bank account
Cash Pick-up
Send to a Western Union® agent location in your recipient's country
Send to Card
Send to a Visa Debit Card, a Visa Credit Card or a Reloadable Visa Prepaid card
Quotes are provided for the exchange rate, transfer fees and estimated arrival time.
Step 3: Select and confirm transfer method
Choose the transfer method that best suits your needs.
For the purpose of this tutorial, we'll Select the Send to Account option.
Review the transfer rate details and the Important Information section.
To make a change, select the < (back) button in the top left corner.
Select the Continue button.
Review the Protect Yourself from Fraud warning.
Select the Continue button.
Step 4: Enter transfer details
Select the account you'd like to transfer funds from using the From account dropdown menu.
The dropdown displays accounts you're permitted to use for the transfer.
If you have accounts in both CAD and USD, the available accounts in your dropdown are based on the currency choice you made in Step 2.
Select the recipient you want to transfer funds to using the Your recipient dropdown menu.
You can edit recipients you see on the list as needed.
If you don't see your intended recipient on the list, add a new recipient by selecting the + Add option.
To add a new recipient, enter the recipient's name (first, middle and last) as it appears on their government-issued photo ID. Then enter their home address.
Select the checkbox to confirm that the recipient has given you their consent to share their personal information for the purposes of the transfer.
Select the Add button.
To add a recipient bank account/Visa Card, enter the required bank account/Visa Card information.
This information can vary depending on the country selected and transfer method (For eg. Enter the Bank account information for Bank transfers and 'Visa Card' number and 'Name on card' for Transfer to a Visa Card). All the fields displayed are mandatory.
Select the checkbox again, confirming the recipient's consent to share personal information for the purposes of the transfer.
Select the Add button.
You'll see a message confirming that your new recipient is added.
Select the account you'd like to transfer funds to using the Recipient's account dropdown menu.
If you don't see the account on the list, add it by selecting the + Add account option.
Make sure the selected account matches the destination country currency.
Describe the purpose of this transfer in the Purpose of transfer field (ex. "Medical bill").
There may be an additional dropdown menu that asks about the purpose of your transfer, depending on your chosen method.
Select the Continue button.
Step 5: Review and confirm
Review your transfer details to ensure that they're correct.
To make a change, select the < (back) button at the top of the page.
Select the Send money button to complete the transfer.
You'll see a message confirming that your transfer is being processed, along with a tracking number for reference.
Once you've completed your transfer, follow any instructions displayed on screen. This will depend on the method of transfer and/or local jurisdiction in the destination country.
From here, you can view your transfer receipt or send another transfer.
